The Bushfire CRC governance and management structure consists of
a Stakeholder Council representing all partners. Partners that
annually contribute at least $100K have voting rights and the right
to nominate a Governing Board member. Under the chairmanship
of Mr Len Foster AO, the Board governs the Bushfire CRC.
There are five committees that contribute to the Board: the user
research and education committee; human resources committee;
strategic directions committee; research utilisation committee;
and, an audit and compliance committee. The Chief Executive Officer
of the Bushfire CRC is Gary Morgan, who is assisted by a management
team at the Bushfire CRC headquarters in Melbourne.
There are five research programs within the Bushfire CRC, all of
which contain a wide range of projects. The programs involve
members of fire and land management organisations, universities,
Australian Federal Government agencies, and New Zealand forest
research agencies.
