Fire Australia Spring 2011 edition
Bushfire CRC articles in the latest edition of Fire Australia include an inside account of the Adelaide workshop that led to the publication of the Bushfire CRC's Southern Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook.
There's also a report on the 2011 Fire Weather and Risk workshop held in Bowral in the New South Wales Southern Highlands, as well as a provocative paper by Rick McRae of the ACT Emergency Services Authority, giving his personal views of the legal aftermaths of the 2003 Canberra fires.
The cover story looks at lessons for firefighting and building design learned from the September 11 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. It features the presentation given to the recent AFAC and Bushfire CRC Sydney conference by Professor José L Torero of the University of Edinburgh.
The quarterly magazine is a joint publication of the Bushfire CRC, the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC), Fire Protection Association Australia and the Institution of Fire Engineers Australia. If you are not on its mailing list but want to be, contact us.
