Information flow and collaborative work in IMT and multi-agency operations
This study is intended to assist in the interoperability of the agencies with responsibility for the mitigation and management of bushfires in Australia. In recent times the various states of Australia are increasingly required to share knowledge and resources; both technological and human.
In order to discover and explore these issues of interoperability experienced by the participating agencies the research will be employing a number of methodological approaches; such as, interviews, questionaires and observations (involving digital audio and video recording).
The research's unique contribution will be to identify areas of systemic contradiction and tension between the cultural, historical, technological an organisational practices of the various agencies with the aim of developing strategies to bring about improvement in responding to the threats posed by bushfires.
