Hot temperatures, high winds and low humidity are important factors in bushfire behaviour. Predicting these complex weather interactions is the goal of a Bushfire CRC project being led by the Bureau of Meteorology.

Fire Note 107 discusses an action research program that was developed around the Tasmania Fire Service’s Community Development Pilot. Above normal fire potential is forecast across southern Australia over the coming summer months as a result of the lack of rainfall this year.
